Hello... I've been enjoying my last days of summer in San Francisco, so sorry I have not posted in a bit. Wanted to share the beautiful murals and art that I stumbled upon in San Fran. I loved the expressive and incredible creations that lined the streets of the city. I was amazed with how much care was put into the public spaces and alleyways. Remember to keep your eyes open, as you never know what is around the corner!
Enjoy,
Margo Isadora
Hi Margo..
ReplyDeleteThank you for your notes on San Francisco Public Art.
I enjoyed that you not only saw it but were seeking it and
that it took you on a tour of the city in your quest.
I loved the pictures and the words.
I am part of a group that is making a web platform for all cities to facilitate the matching of art / art proposals and under-utilized and un-used spaces. Presently you can get an idea of what we are trying to address on our early version of our site. We call it the baby Version 0.5. If you go there today you can actually put up available or found spaces and ideas / proposals for art either on line or via twitter.
You can send spaces that you find and would like to see art on or in via twitter to @publicartspaces or post ideas needing spaces @publicartideas.
or just go to the website and upload via online forms.
We believe in the power of art to elevate, activate, beautify, and transform communities.
We are launching the main website around October 1st and the mobile app to follow. Initially we will do our pilot program in San Francisco and roll out from there.
Would you like to write an article / blog post with pictures -about Public Art on our site ? I think it would be great. We are building community, dialogue, and action around Public Art.
If we get our timing aligned we can get your writing up before we launch the full site in about a month.
We hope you will consider.
Sincerely
Felix
