I was inspired to create these fun DIY Nail Polish Painted Bobby Pin Earrings after seeing Alianne's striped ones over at the metric child. This was a perfect midnight creative fix for me last night, as I had already had all the supplies.
Make some statement bobby pin earrings of your own, you won't regret it! Rummage around your home and get together at least 2 colors of nail polish, 10 bobby pins (I keep mine organized in a tic tac container), a piece of cardboard or hard paper, a pair of earring hooks, wire that matches the earring hooks, and a pair of long nosed pliers. Follow the tutorial below to create some one of a kind dangling stunners!
I'm loving mine and can't wait to see what patterns you come up with. This is a DIY not to MIS!
Enjoy,
Margo Isadora
1. Gather your supplies. |
2. Line your 10 bobby pins up across your cardboard. |
3. Separate the bobby pins into your two pairs of earrings. Be sure to leave a bit of space between them, this will make painting easier! |
4. Paint your pins with any design you like. *I found that free handing it was the least hassle, I used the ridges in the pins to measure and make sure my earrings were symmetrical. *Try a chevron print, stripes, shapes, or any other fun designs that come to mind. |
5. Paint a design or solid color on the back, for those days when your hair is up. (In my opinion the front is more important, so I didn't stress about the back.) |
6. Let dry overnight! |
8. All done! |
I predict that they will become a summer staple in my earring rotation :) |
I am so excited you tried it! Seeing this post literally made my night!
