DIY Towel Dress!

As soon as I saw the 'Beach Towel Dress' tutorial on MADE I knew exactly which towel I would be using to create my own towel dress! I purchased some elastic thread (it took 2 full spools), threaded my bobbin and got started sewing rows. I used a colorful, thin towel from Old Navy. Pick a towel you love and create the perfect cover-up-dress for summer. Check out the full tutorial at http://www.dana-made-it.com/2010/06/beach-towel-dress.html Don't forget to share your creations with me!

Enjoy,
Margo Isadora

  2. So did you need to cut some of the towel down? Or did you just sew the sidestogether and then shir the top?

  3. Hi Lisa!
I shirred the top and then fitted it to me, before I sewed the back seam. Shirr a few rows all the way across and then you will see how much of the towel you will need. At that point you can continue to shirr the rows, but you don't have to go all the way across. When you are content with your row #, fit it to you and sew the back seam!
Send me a picture of your finished dress would love to see it :)
    Thanks, Margo Isadora
